Laura Guichard has been named the Spring 2017 Outstanding Master’s Graduate in Accounting for the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration.

Guichard was previously chosen as the Moody College of Business’s Outstanding Accounting Graduate in Spring 2012, as well as the overall Outstanding Graduate for that same semester.

While maintaining a 4.0 cumulative GPA in her graduate studies, Guichard was an active volunteer at UL Lafayette, helping to recruit students in accounting, serving at the career fair and major fair and tutoring in accounting.

Guichard held several scholarships, such as the Accounting Department Scholarship, the Kappa Delta Sorority Founder’s Scholarship and the Lafayette Chapter Society of Louisiana CPAs Scholarship. She also received many honors and awards, including the Beta Alpha Psi Gold Chapter Challenge Award (three times) and Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.

She was also involved in numerous organizations and activities, such as Study Abroad, Phi Kappa Phi, the Accounting Society, as well as serving as president of Beta Alpha Phi.

While earning her MS in accounting degree, Guichard served as a teaching assistant in Accounting 202 classes at UL Lafayette. Her work experience includes teaching at Acension Episcopal High School, interning at Ernst & Young, accounting work at Guichard Operating, Inc. and managing at Corita Court Apartments.

Guichard recently passed the first part of the CPA exam and will begin the Doctorate in Accounting program at Louisiana State University in August. Alter receiving her doctorate degree, Guichard plans to become a college professor.
