UL Lafayette gets a new School of Computing and Informatics
Mon, 01/27/2014 - 12:00amThe Louisiana Board of Regents has indicated a reconfiguration of the B.S. in Management Information Systems, effective May 2011.
Specifically, the reconfigured degree that the University will award is the B.S. in Informatics, which, along with the B.S. in Computer Science, resides in a new administrative unit, the School of Computing and Informatics (Ray P. Authement College of Sciences). Dr. Henry Chu is Interim Director of the new School of Computing and Informatics, and Dr. Michael Totaro is Program Coordinator for the new Informatics Program.
Please see the two PDF documents, which are as follows: (1) an Informatics Program brochure; and (2) an Informatics Program Curriculum document. As you will see from the information contained within these two documents, the Informatics Program offers students four concentrations, which are as follows:
1. Business Informatics Concentration
2. Healthcare Informatics Concentration
3. Media Technology Concentration
4. Systems Administration Concentration
