A new partnership between Junior Achievement and the UL Lafayette's B.I. Moody, III College of Business Administration is designed to recognize a business or business person who graduated from ULL’s business program.

A new award has been established to recognize our outstanding Alumni. The University thought it fitting to honor in its inaugural year the very man whom the College of Business was recently named, B. I. Moody, III.
Throughout the career of this business giant, who has accomplished so much, and who is considered by many to be one of the most, if not the most successful business people in Acadiana, there has been one constant; care for people. A true humanitarian with razor sharp business skills and an entrepreneurial spirit that produced enduring success in banking, newspapers, restaurants, farming, oil and gas, real estate, public accounting and other business ventures.
The decision to rename the College of Business after Moody in recognition of his service to business and industry in Acadiana was easy, as then UL President Ray Authement said, “Moody represents an unrelenting business sense that has brought him much success in the past and continues to endure today. He is the perfect example of someone with a sharp eye for what it takes to make a business work.”
Of the award, Moody credits his studies and professors at- then SLI for his keen interest in business, recalling how the top-notch professors helped to shape his thinking about business and the role it plays in society.
Currently, Moody is chairman of the Moody Company and chairman of Louisiana State Newspapers and he serves on a multitude of boards. It is his focus on people and his concern for every employee at every level in his organization that has gained him his utmost prizes: great loyalty, respect and admiration from his employees. Congratulations to Mr. Moody for receiving the first ever UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA AT LAFAYETTE B.I. MOODY, III COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AWARD.
