Nicholas Laborde named Management Outstanding Graduate for Fall 2015
Wed, 12/16/2015 - 11:16amNicholas Laborde has been selected as the Management Department’s Outstanding Graduate for the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration for the Fall 2015 semester.
Maintaining a 3.8 cumulative GPA, Laborde has been recognized on the President’s and Dean’s lists for multiple semesters. He has also been selected by his peers as “Best Seminar” for the honors seminar course for four consecutive semesters, a record in the program.
He also received the William A. Brady Endowed Scholarship for the Fall 2015 semester.
In addition to his academic achievements, Laborde achieved his ultimate college goal and founded Raconteur Games, LLC, a video game development company. He is also very active in his professional community, starting a chapter of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) in Lafayette. Laborde is also involved with Opportunity Machine in Lafayette and assists other aspiring entrepreneurs in their future endeavors.
Along with his involvement in the local community, Laborde is an active mentor with San Francisco-based video game startup accelerator, Core Labs Accelerator, where he assists with video game startups worldwide.
After completing his bachelor’s degree, Laborde wishes to continue his education and pursue his master’s in business administration at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. While working toward his MBA, Laborde will continue leading his company by working on products that focus on telling stories in new, innovative ways.
Laborde is the son of Elizabeth Battalora of Pineville, La., and John Ed Laborde of Marksville, La.
