Andrew Albritton named Fall 2017 Moody College of Business Outstanding Graduate

Andrew Albritton has been selected as the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration’s Outstanding Graduate for the Department of Economics and Finance and overall collegiate Outstanding Graduate for the Fall 2017 semester.

In addition to maintaining a 3.84 cumulative GPA, Albritton has been included on the Dean’s List and President’s List for seven semesters. He was awarded many scholarships including the UL Lafayette Outstanding Student Scholarship, the B.I. Moody College of Business John G. Torian Scholarship, as well as the UL Lafayette Student Government Association Scholarship. Albritton has also been the recipient of honors and awards such as Who’s Who Among College Students in 2016 and 2017, the President’s Leadership Award, the Greek Fraternity Member of the Year Award, and the Greek Hall of Fame.

Albritton has served in various roles in university organizations such as Sigma Chi Fraternity, where he was as the chapter vice president from 2016 to 2017, as vice president of finance in the Interfraternity Council from 2015 to 2016, associate justice and chief elections officer for UL Lafayette’s Student Government Association, and staff member for student orientation. In addition to being a SOUL Camp orientation staff mentor, he was also the ceremonies coordinator for The Big Event in 2015 as well as the finance director in 2016.

Overall, Albritton has completed over 10,000 hours of campus community service through the orientation staff and SOUL Camp as well as helping with the 2016 flood relief efforts by preparing and delivering over 2,000 lunches to families in need through iMonelli, a local restaurant. While attending several conferences representing UL Lafayette’s Greek community, Albritton served as a student intern for the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership as well as performing emcee duties for many campus events including the Homecoming Parade and Miss UL in 2016.

Albritton has worked for iMonelli throughout his college career and recently accepted a position at NeunerPate – Attorneys at Law.  While his future plans are not set in stone, he is considering pursuing a master’s in business administration at UL Lafayette in addition to attending law school. After law school he plans to work in the public sector to provide legal representation to those who cannot afford an attorney and plans to hopefully work to drive public policy in issues of social justice and welfare.
