Annie Briley named Fall 2017 Outstanding MBA Graduate and Overall UL Lafayette Graduate Student
Wed, 12/13/2017 - 10:37amAnnie Briley has been named the Outstanding MBA Student for the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration and the overall UL Lafayette Graduate Student for the Fall 2017 semester.
Briley was previously chosen as the Outstanding Graduate for the Department of Marketing and Hospitality in 2015, when she graduated summa cum laude. As both an undergraduate and MBA student, she has maintained a 4.0 GPA. During her time at UL Lafayette, she has earned many awards and scholarships such as the Student Government Association Scholarship and the Dorothy Anderson Alpha Lambda Fellowship. She was also named Greek Woman of the Year and was inducted into the Greek Hall of Fame in 2016.
She has been an active member in many organizations such as the Student Government Association, where she was vice president and Graduate School senator, the Food Service Committee and the Dean Search Committee for the Moody College of Business, and she recently has been a member of the MBA Association where she currently acts as recruitment chair.
In addition to her organizational involvement, Briley has also been very involved in community service. Previously she has volunteered for the Walk to Defeat ALS and has fundraised for She’s The First, and she is currently a member of the Outreach Center for Women and Children’s Leadership Council and Palates and Pate Production Committee.
Briley is currently a graduate and research assistant for the Moody College of Business as well as a choreographer and instructor for DeLarue Dance Centre. Through her experience as a graduate assistant, she organized events such as Business and Breakfast, the Moody College of Business’s 59th Annual Awards Banquet, Campus Clean Up, Party on the Green, and Sneaux Day. Her future plans are to continue working at the University while also applying for a doctoral program such as the online DBA program or the UL Lafayette doctoral program in educational leadership. In addition to travelling to every state in America, she hopes to one day have a large family that resides in Lafayette. As a side hobby, she wants to start an Instagram-based clothing boutique that donates a portion of its proceeds to charities such as She’s the First which benefits women’s education in third world countries.
