Hannah Dardar named Fall 2017 Outstanding Accounting Graduate

Hannah Dardar has been named the Outstanding Graduate for the Accounting Department in the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration for the Fall 2017 semester.

Dardar has been the recipient of numerous scholarships including the TOPS Honors Scholarship, A.L. Barcelona Endowed Business Scholarship, the Institute of Managerial Accountants Student Chapter scholarship, the Wright, Moore, Dehart, Dupuis, and Hutchinson Scholarship, the Centennial Scholarship, the Ray P. Authement Valedictorian Scholarship as well various departmental scholarships.

While earning a 3.93 cumulative GPA, Dardar has also been listed on the President’s List and Dean’s List for multiple semesters as well as winning the UL Academic Excellence Award every semester. Dardar also participated in many organizations such as Beta Alpha Psi, the Institute of Managerial Accountants, the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. She has been a member of Beta Alpha Psi for five semesters and has acted as treasurer for the 2016-2017 academic year. She has also represented this organization at regional meetings in both Houston and Dallas, Texas as well their annual meeting in Baltimore, Maryland. At the 2017 Regional Meeting, her group received 2nd place in the Best Practice competition. Dardar has also been a member of the Institute of Managerial Accountants for seven semesters and has acted as the vice president of communications for three semesters.

In addition to being a peer mentor and tutor, Dardar has also volunteered for many local events and organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Boys’ and Girls’ Club, and Faith House. She has also been a Lifeteen/Confirmation Leader at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice. Dardar has also volunteered at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville and Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kaplan as a staff member for their Confirmation and Famine retreats.

She is currently an intern at Kolder, Champagne, Slaven, & Co., LLC, and after graduation she plans to sit for the CPA exam as well as the Louisiana notary exam. She then plans on beginning her career as a staff accountant at Kolder, Champagne, Slaven, & Co., LLC and becoming a commissioned notary public.

She is the daughter of Susan and Clayton Dardar of Abbeville, La.
