Healy Carden named Spring 2018 Moody College of Business Outstanding Graduate

Healy Carden has been named the Spring 2018 Outstanding Accounting Graduate as well as the Overall Outstanding Graduate for the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration. Throughout her time at the University, she has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.94 and has been mentioned on the President’s List every year since 2014. She is the recipient of many scholarships such as the UL Academic Scholarship, the Virginia and Gerald Goertz Endowed Scholarship, and the Jim & Charlotte Doyle Endowed Scholarship.

Carden has been very involved in student organizations throughout her time at UL. While being a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority, for which she won the Kappa Delta Panhellenic Positive Award, she is also the President of the College of Business Student Government Association. Carden was also a Student Orientation Staff Leader here at UL from 2016 to 2017. She has been a member of the UL Lafayette Panhellenic Council since 2016 and was also on the Student Advisory Committee to the Dean of the College of Business. In addition to participating in the Big Event for the past four years, Carden has also participated in fund raising events for Prevent Child Abuse America, Faith House of Acadiana, and Huntsman Cancer Institute.

She is currently an intern for Thibodaux, Hebert, Deshotels, Leblanc CPA firm and was a student worker for UL Lafayette’s Administrative Services since 2014. After graduation, Carden plans on attending graduate school here at UL and will earn her MBA. Next fall, she is expecting to sit for the CPA exam. Once she receives her license, she wants to be a public accountant and eventually wants to become a partner or start her own firm.

She is the daughter of Kelly and Chip Carden of Wetumpka, Alabama.
