UL Society for Human Resource Management

The UL Lafayette Society for Human Resource Management (UL SHRM) is open to all students who are interested in expanding their knowledge of the Human Resources field. The mission of UL ShRM is to serve and advance the human rsources professions. We provide networking, professional development activities, guest speakers, volunteer opportunities, internships, fundraising events, and more.

ULSHRM is affiliated with the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the local Acadiana Society for Human Resource Management (ASHRM). Being a member of both the national SHRM and ASHRM are extremely beneficial to students looking to be a part of the human resources workforce. Both organizations provide access to events, news, legal updates, and so much more within the human resources community.

• Acadiana Society for Human Resource Management (ASHRM) specifically puts you in contact with HR professionals within Acadiana. As a member of UL SHRM, you are eligible for free membership in the ASHRM.
• We encourage membership in the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). SHRM provides articles that may be helpful to you in your Management and HR classes regarding topics such as laws that affect the hiring and management of employees, different types of employee benefits and why they're important to retention, why employee engagement is so important, and ways to increase a company's employee engagement.
